The back has a yoke-shaped crest rail that is attached to the rear stiles with pinned mortise and tenon joints. There is a horizontal split at the center of the crest rail. The back is curved for comfort. The rear stiles are continuous with the back legs. The trapezoidal shaped seat is framed using mortise and tenon construction. The seat has four triangular corner blocks, which are attached to the seat frame using screws. According to museum records, the chair was reupholstered in 1954. The chair currently has red artificial leather over-the-rail upholstery finished with upholstery nails along the front corners of the seat. The front cabriole legs are flanked by ogee-shaped knee blocks; the knee blocks on the front of the chair are replaced while those on the sides of the chair are older. The front legs terminate in pad feet. The rear squared legs are chamfered along their front edges above the side stretchers and are raked back at the foot. The side stretchers are baluster-turned while the rear and medial stretchers are turned with bulbous centers. The stretchers are attached to the legs with pinned mortise and tenon joints. Repair is visible at the front side of the front left pad foot."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"5/20/2015"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and Inscriptions","value":"None found"},{"label":"Materials","value":"Maple"},{"label":"Style","value":["Queen Anne"]},{"label":"Basis of Date","value":"Date range provided by Pilgrim Hall Museum."},{"label":"Date (EDTF)","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1730 - D:00 M:00 Y:1745"},{"label":"Basis of Origin","value":"Attributed to Boston by Brock Jobe, July 2004."},{"label":"Place of Origin","value":"Boston, Massachusetts"},{"label":"Other Name","value":"Occasional chair"},{"label":"Object Type","value":["Chair"]},{"label":"Object Use","value":"Seating furniture"},{"label":"Category","value":"Furniture"},{"label":"Title","value":"Side chair"},{"label":"Date Modified","value":"7/18/2018"}],"description":"Side chair","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/0707858a-a005-44f4-9640-8ae7c5803aed/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"dapc_2014-0163-001","height":1200,"width":723,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/9da6c1c4-07fb-4518-88c9-b71487322aac/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/9da6c1c4-07fb-4518-88c9-b71487322aac","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1,2,4]}]},"height":1200,"width":723},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/0707858a-a005-44f4-9640-8ae7c5803aed/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/9da6c1c4-07fb-4518-88c9-b71487322aac/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}},{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/0707858a-a005-44f4-9640-8ae7c5803aed/canvas/_2","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"dapc_2014-0163-002","height":1200,"width":781,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/286c1edd-d563-4894-917a-74bb638e394e/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/286c1edd-d563-4894-917a-74bb638e394e","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json"},"height":1200,"width":781},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/0707858a-a005-44f4-9640-8ae7c5803aed/canvas/_2","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/286c1edd-d563-4894-917a-74bb638e394e/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/9da6c1c4-07fb-4518-88c9-b71487322aac/full/300,300/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/logo"}
