Rectangular chair back with vertical profile and curved crest rail. The crest rail is secured to the back stiles with mortise and tenon joints and square headed nails. The rear stiles have integral finials, are attached to the seat rail with mortise and tenon joints, and are continuous with the back legs. The two banisters on the right side of the chair back are slightly warped. The trapezoidal rush seat is framed and attached to the chair legs with mortise and tenon joints. The rush seat is painted black and damaged at the front of the seat. The seat rail is likely maple. The two front legs are turned and terminate in ball feet. The two back legs are cylindrical and taper at the base of the leg. The chair has one rear stretcher, two stretchers at each side, and one front stretcher. The front stretcher has sausage turnings.
