The tablet back is veneered with mahogany. Decorative scroll carving is present at the top right side of the tablet and missing on the left side. A horizontal slat is also veneered with mahogany. The arms of the chair are composed of four pieces of wood each. The tops of the arms are flat due to the addition of a secondary piece of wood on the exterior sides of the arms that overlap the tops of the arms. The trapezoidal seat has a doweled seat frame. The back seat rail is laminated and composed of two pieces of wood. The upholstery foundations, including straw, springs, and nails, and textile materials of the seat appear to be original. The front legs of the chair are baluster turned. The top of the front left leg is damaged and separated from the front seat rail. The side rails are cut out behind the front legs so as to accept the square shape of the top of the legs. The rear legs are rectangular in shape and racked back.
