Cloister is a collection of three short stories, situated in the tradition of feminist Science Fiction, and engaging with New Materialist understandings of embodied knowledge and positionality. The stories physically travel outward from the Earth, starting on familiar land, moving to an orbit around Earth, and eventually to another solar system. The stories ask questions of human and celestial bodies: what can be learned in the absence of the corporeal or in its silent presence? The collection explores connections across time and space, and different forms of observation enabled and constrained by sensory input.
