This thesis considers the metaphorical and experiential spatialities of the internet in relation to the physical world. First, I discuss how the spatial metaphor of \"cyberspace\" is constructed and subconsciously employed to discuss the internet through spatial terms. Next, I discuss the spatial function of telecommunications technologies through the framework of time geography, and argue that the internet belongs in a spatial framework due to the ways in which it is experienced. Then, I use these two cyberspatialities to consider how the appeal of the internet relates to escapism from late stage capitalism, and how current trends in digital capitalism increasingly imbue cyberspace with the problems of the physical world. The creative portion of this thesis engages metaphorical and experiential spatialities of the internet, and attempts to create a sense of spatiality which exaggerates the problems I identify with the current reality of cyberspace.
