Very Good to Fine. The first item is Moore's patented brass rocker scale, with slots inscribed for half eagles and quarter eagles on one side of the beam and a counterweight on the other. The maker's name is inscribed on the counterweight and the word PATENT is on the base. Made in Philadelphia, circa 1834. The second item is a brass rocker scale with counterweight on one side and unmarked slots for quarters and half dollars on the other. The counterweight is inscribed CHAS. E. SEYMOUR/442 W. 46 ST/N.Y. A short descriptive note on a circular tag, written by Eric P. Newman, indicates this piece is Ex: Gorlick #4. The larger Seymour detector is approximately 5.2 x 1.1 x 1.3 inches. Ex: Eric P.
