Mayers & Bro. - Payable in Multiple Locations 50 Cents Jan. 9, 1862 Rothert 234-13. PCGS Very Fine 30. The final date observed for this issuer. Printed on brown paper, and similar to Rothert 234-7, but with all five payable locations. Plate letter B is at lower left. The date is completely engraved. Three payables are across the top: Stirman & Dickson, Fayetteville; White & Hanley, Van Buren; F. H. Nash, Ft. Gibson. Along the bottom are Alexander & Allen, Sherman and J. M. Smoot, Denton, Texas. The red Mayers ink stamp is on the face. Boldly printed and wide margined. A very choice example and underrated in this condition. One of the finest we have seen. Ex: Eric P.
