A very common note with over 7,900 examples listed in Track & Price. However, it becomes very scarce at this grade. PCGS has graded over twenty-one hundred of these, with only 33 at and above this Gem New 66PPQ level. This note, as the grade would imply, shows terrific full color, excellent centering, and better than normal margins for the type. The portrait is that of Michael Hillegas, the first Treasurer of the United States; his son Samuel was a signer of Continental Currency. We sold two other Gem New 66 notes recently, one graded PCGS 66PPQ in September of 2013 and the other designated PMG 66EPQ in April of 2013. Both realized an identical $4,406.25.  Ex: Eric P.
