MA-256. PCGS Choice New 63.  This is from the second date and back style for the Revere \"Codfish\" bills. This series features the iconic images of the codfish and pine tree: the mainstays of the Massachusetts economy. The October 16, 1778 notes with the Thomas Fleet back seen here, as opposed to the 1776 Gill-printed backs, are sometimes encountered in choice condition; they were cut off from leftover three-note strips. This serial number 5752 falls into the range of several of former uncut strips. This example is especially well printed, particularly on the back. The face-to-back registration is exceptional, with nearly perfect back centering. The face bottom margin is broad, and the note is appealing. Ex: Eric P.
