NC-190b. PCGS Fine 15 Apparent.  This is an exceedingly rare and unusual type. Though dated August 8, 1778 on the face, the back is dated 1780. There are three motto types for the notes, all of which are $50 denominated. with themes of relating to Independence, Liberty, and Persecution. Only 498 were printed of each motto, and few have survived. The Boyd collection note was an INDEPENDENCE motto type (Liberty and Peace, / the Reward of / virtuous Resistance) and realized $8,050 at Ford XV in October 2006. This Apparent example has \"Edge Splits, Tears and Minor Fraying.\" The corners are rounded and there is splitting, but the extreme rarity must be taken into account.   Ex: Eric P.
