Proof. PCGS Choice About New 58.  The notes from this bank are complex because they increased their capitalization from $25,000 to $125,000 over the tenure of the bank. This is a Gem $1 proof , without protector, on India paper by Toppan, Carpenter, Casilear & Co, New York & Philadelphia. The issued notes from the bank used red protectors. An allegorical female holds out an ear of corn from a brimming basket at top center. Between the counters at the right end, an oval frame surrounds the portrait of an elegant young woman . At the top center, arced over the vignette, is Capital Stock $100,000. The only proofs from this series known, besides these available Newman Collection examples, are in the Wisconsin Historical Society. Noted as \"Hole Punch Canceled\" as made. This nearly perfect proof  is far superior to the first example, plate A, we sold from the Newman Collection in October 2015 for $587.50. Ex: Eric P.
