Pineville, MO - J. P. Lamance $2 June 18, 1863. PCGS Very Fine 30. An impressive third note type from this very rare Pineville issuer with a slightly different obligation clause. The condition for a Missouri Confederate period note is exemplary. Printed on reddish-brown rag paper without imprint. Like other denominations observed from Pineville, with a similar layout. Double-line bordering all around encloses the typeset text. Town and date are at upper right, and \"TWO DOLLARS.\" is across with the obligation, \"Payable in Missouri Defense Bonds, when Ten, twenty, or / Fifty Dollars is presented. The printed J. P. LAMANCE is at lower right. Plate A, no. 161, and elegantly signed by Lamance on the back. Sharply printed and with an extraordinary appearance. Save for an upper right pinhole, a \"PPQ\" note.
