This proof series is known, but very rare and beautifully rendered by Danforth, Perkins & Co., New-York & Philad with the full American Bank Note Company imprint added at the bottom. Printed on India paper only. The green tint shade is very deep and not often seen on many Obsolete note series. This lovely note shows a wide vignette of a riverboat above the bank title. Oval portraits are in the lower corners: at left, a young woman adorned with flowers; at right, an older man, used by the bank and presumably an officer. The unusual full green tint snowflake pattern is seen only on this type. The title, protector \"TEN\" and upper counters are outlined in white. A masterful set of plates created this proof series. Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" as made and with the Wismer pedigree \"Hinge Remnants on Back.\" The face appearance is superb, and the last offering of a proof from this series was in the Schingoethe sales, getting farther away by the day.
