Proof. PCGS New 62.  This is a very distinctive and handsome Toppan, Carpenter & Co. India paper proof mounted on cardstock. An enormous \"Lazy \"3\" in gray covers a good portion of the face. At top center, a large beehive among flowering plants symbolizes Industry; the beehive motif is used on this Bank of New York series. Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" and \"Mounted on Cardstock.\" A penciled collector notation is on the back of the card. There is a razor thin line at the top right running from the edge into the busy vignette. Apparently, an inked fiber became embedded into the India paper during the printing process and is embossed to the back of the card. Rare and beautifully styled. Ex: Eric P.
