PCGS Contemporary.   An unlisted counterfeit from the St. Louis branch with the design copying the Toppan, Carpenter, Casilear & Co. style. the ABC monogram is not seen due to the missing right end. At the top center is steamboat. A male portrait is at the bottom left, and Union would have been at the lower right, but without the title on the column (see genuine proof) on the complete note. The plate letter is not seen. No. 5503. The design numeral is printed, distinguishing it from the previous St. Charles counterfeit with the handwritten number. Not graded, and a little more than 50% is present, laminated to hold what remains together. Certified as \"CONTEMPORARY\" by PCGS. A period-produced piece and the only example seen by us. Ex: Eric P.
