This is part of a four-denomination series of interesting topical scrip notes with the issuer name cleverly located on the stagecoach vignette at top center. Not dated, but the style suggests the late 1850s or the 1860s after the Union regained firm control. Notes from the series only come unsigned and unissued. Printed on white bond paper. All denominations share a common layout and style. The A. McLean lith. St. Louis imprint's lithographed rendering is finely detailed, with four formally dressed passengers visible. The horse teams are well detailed, but running in the \"artistic\" equine fashion and not as horses actually run. Counters are in the upper corners. The obligation was \"Receivable for Stage Fares & other Dues.\" Unsigned and unissued as all we have seen.
