Razor sharp printing clarity, broad face margins, and board-like crispness combine to create exceptional eye appeal. This is the second highest denomination from this Franklin and Hall printed series. In a horizontal format with a perpendicular nature print back with the imprint of B. FRANKLIN and D. HALL below. The horizontal pillars at top and bottom have the abbreviated denomination inverted with a black FIVE and white SHIL on the gray background. The signatures of Johnathan Evans, Thomas Crosby, and John Reynell are crystal clear. Plate A. This is a beautiful example, and perhaps exceeded only by very few Franklin and Hall Pennsylvania notes from this period.
