North Carolina December 22, 1758 20 Shillings Fr. NC-99. PCGS Extremely Fine 40. There are several North Carolina typeset series from the 1750s and 1760s; however, notes from this Edenton act issue are extremely rare in all grades. The fact that the issue was missing from the Boyd collection confirms that rarity. This note, thought to be Rarity 7 (4-12 known), is most likely the finest known from the act. It is the Newman plate note illustrated on page 319 of the fifth edition of The Early Paper Money of America. Uniface and printed on laid paper. Typeset texts are within ornamental borders. Face plate (b) with no part of the \"m\" in \"from\" above the \"n\" of \"in\" underneath. Signed by Barker and Starkey. Broadly margined on three sides with the left indent cut inward as issued. Penned \"1/6\" at lower right corner. This is superior by several grades to the Tar Heel Part II example we sold for $1,410 in September 2016.
