St. Genevieve, (M.T.) - Bank of Missouri at their Office of Discount and Deposit in St. Genevieve $1 Oct. 1, 1818 MO-30 G30. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. A different series Bank of Missouri type and scarcer than the demand notes issued from St. Louis. The Bank of Missouri was authorized to open branches by its original incorporation. However, only this \"Office of Discount and Deposit\" was created, and it issued five reported denominations from $1 to $20. The Bank of Missouri $1 and $3 branch-office issues are less ornate than the home St. Louis bank demand notes with the Jefferson bust vignette. This note, and all others from the branch, was issued to Wm. Shannon from this office. Like other demand notes from the bank, these were printed by Murray, Draper, Fairman & Co. on red fiber banknote paper. The title and obligations on this simply-engraved plate are in different fonts and sizes. At the top are two oval \"1\" dies. Intricate end panels with cartouches are similar to those on the demand notes, with ONE at the left and \"MISSOURI\" at the right. Plate A. No. 1023. Signed by John Dales as cashier and Aug. Chouteau as bank president. A clean note with only some \"Mounting Remnants on Back\" cited by grading. Nicely accomplished signatures, particularly that of Dales, which often is seen weakly penned.
