WB-101. CAC. Ex: \"Col.\" E.H.R. Green. The first of three NGC AU58 half dollars in this sale. This is one of the most \"common\" dates in the Liberty Seated half dollar series, but not in this grade nor with this pedigree. This piece has attractive silver-gray toning with gold and blue highlights and just the slightest friction over the coin's high points. There are only a few tiny marks on the reverse fields; a black streak above the obverse ribbon will establish this coin's pedigree to the Eric P. Newman Collection.      Even though 1843 is a common date for the series, extensive and interesting obverse and reverse die cracks are typical. There are approximately 20 die-cracked obverse dies and as many cracked reverse dies in various die marriage combinations.
