The first of several examples from this private name bank in the Newman Collection holdings. This piece is signed by George E. Ricker as Cashier and George J. Ricker as President. The younger Ricker entered the family's banking business in the bookkeeping department at the age of 21, and advanced to Cashier of the bank at the age of 27 in 1893. At that time, it was the largest bank in the state outside of Chicago; but by 1908, his meteoric rise in the banking world had come to a sad end, as Ricker relocated to Kansas City as the \"junior partner and active head of Smith & Ricker, cattle loans.\"  Ex: Eric P.
