An excessively rare note from a short lived Kansas City bank which issued Series 1875 notes only before closing in 1891. The current National Bank Note Census shows just three examples extant, and our data reveals that there has been only one offering of any kind from this bank since an appearance on the fixed price list of the Fred Sweeney Collection back in January of 1980. Not only is this a rare bank, this Series 1875 $20 is a very rare type from any Missouri bank. This note is only the third such specimen reported to date, and the first to be offered at public sale, in the twenty-five years since the last appearance at public sale in our November 1990 auction of Robert Denny's Missouri collection.
