Proof. PCGS Choice About New 58. A superbly crafted India paper proof printed from Underwood, Bald, Spencer & Hufty engraved plates. This series had branch payable lines toward the bottom. Classic American patriotism is featured in an allegory of two cherubs at the shore appearing to vie for control of the Stars and Stripes flag as a clipper ship passes by. Numerical counters are to the right and left. End panels show perpendicular FIVE counters. Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" as made. The handling is trivial and the margins complete. We have sold one other example, graded PMG Choice Uncirculated 64, in the 2012 Fall Dallas ANA Sale for $2,233. This boasts the same eye appeal as that proof. Ex: Eric P.
