The setting is interior, possibly a reception/party, as there's a table covered with a white table cloth, full of dishes and silver behind the two main characters. A man and a woman are pictured. The man is on the right-hand side of the picture. He is tall, with perfect posture, dressed in a formal manner, with spats on his shoes, a full cutaway suit with boutonniere, wing collar and a tie. He has a receding hairline, and wears glasses. His expression is very stern, and his right hand is resting on the left shoulder of the young woman in front of him. She appears startled and trying to get out from under his hand. She is wearing a light colored dress with a large flounce in a 1920s style, and a small brimmed hat. She's holding what appears to be a box, or possibly a clutch purse in her right hand, and is reaching back with her left. The caption reads; 'Anny had just grasped the ( )se in her hand when a heavy hand ( )s placed upon ( )er shoulder.' No image found. Many of the Wodehouse stories were in The Strand Magazine, but without title it would take forever to find this.
