PCGS Extremely Fine 40PPQ. A stunning example from this Confederate-controlled \"state capital.\" We have seen a few examples of this type over the years, but this might be the finest. The note is larger than the 50 cents with the same date. Printed on delicate, thin brown (or buff) paper. The layout and style are quite similar to several Arkansas types, particularly Mayer & Brothers notes. Elegant bordering encloses the texts, TWO DOLLARS is across the center, and IN CONFEDERATE MONEY is below. Hand signed by \"Roberts + Ellis.\" An exceptional example with wide margins. The Newman Collection duplicate of this type realized $763.75 in Newman Internet 3 graded PCGS Very Fine 35. This is in superior grade for an example from Neosho and might be the finest known.
