A deep green pattern composed of staggered bands of chevrons and arcs covers most of the face of this bold note. The serene central vignette of sailing ships is surrounded by the arced title above, heavy green \"V\" counters flanking the vignette, and ornate red FIVE protector below. Numeric counters are in the upper corners. Framed allegorical females are in the lower corners: seated Liberty with a capped pole at left, and Agriculture at lower right. The \"Small Edge Tears\" mentioned are not a distraction on this crisp example. Very few Obsolete notes use this three-color style. Ex: Eric P.
