CAC. A low mintage of 11,540 coins partially explains the scarcity of the 1862 Seated dollar. Another reason they are difficult to locate is silver dollars were worth $1.04 in terms of gold in 1862. This is a richly toned coin that at first glance appears much finer than the stated grade. Streaks and swirls of deep gray, purple, and blue colors are seen on each side.
