PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent.  This is a series of territorial period American paper currency with a custom style vignette befitting St. Louis' paramount role in American commerce during this time. The notes were signed by Auguste Chouteau, the founder of St. Louis. They were printed from beautifully crafted plates by Murray, Draper, Fairman & Co. All use a common top central vignette with a bust of Jefferson on a pedestal, and a capped liberty pole behind. The name \"Jefferson\" is arced above, commercial goods and beehives are at the shore, and ships are at sail in the background. Grading notes the following: \"Missing LR Corner; Tape Repair on Back; Minor Paperclip Rust Stains.\" The $1 notes from this iconic series are difficult to find and rarely seen in high grade.
