The most frequently encountered War of 1812 note and a perfect candidate for any American type set. Engraved and printed by Murray, Draper, Fairman & Co. on watermarked UNITED STATES bond paper with color security threads. This is the Plate F example of the four notes printed on a sheet. It has banknote size and format. The upper left shows an eagle, motto in banner, with a large sunburst behind. Intricate end panels with TEN DOLLARS are at each end in a cartouche. Obligations are across with engraved date top center under the title, and 7% interest bearing specified. Listed as Hessler X83C. A classic American currency note and the most often encountered War of 1812 Treasury Note type. These are hardly common and we would estimate 30 to 40 still exist. The Apparent designation is for \"Small Internal Splits at Left.\" The top border is trimmed into a bit, but a well printed note with strong signatures.
