An eclectic selection of notes including several scarce pieces. Danville Insurance Co. 50 cents H&L. (The Hoyer & Ludwig-printed notes make an excellent Virginia collecting subject.) VG; Monongalia Farmers Co. of Virginia, Morgantown $1 ca. 181_ (BM30-05). The issuer operated as a private bank. A rare note, but faded, with a rough edge and hinged back perimeter; G.A. White's Omnibus Line, Newtown 25 and 50 cents Sept. 20, 1861. Ceres left, train at center (PN25-07, 08). Both VG, second with internal splitting. These are underrated scarcities; James River and Kanawha Company $5 engraved remainder VF; George F. Hupp, Winchester 12-1/2 cents remainder. AU, back corner mount. Ex: Eric P.
