Columbia, MO - (J. Kirkbride & Co.) \"At Our Store\" 50 Cents November 10, 1862. Remainder. PCGS About New 53 Apparent. It is extremely likely that this is another J. Kirkbride & Co. note type, but from a different and much rarer series. This has the same engraved date and printing style as the 5 to 25 cents \"Due the Bearer\" notes with J. Kirkbride & Co. titles. It is a remainder note printed on banknote paper without imprint. In a wider format than the \"Pay the Bearer\" denomination types (5 Cents to 25 Cents) and with a restrictive clause \"...when presented in sums of ONE DOLLAR at our Store.\" The left end has an ornate pattern, similar in style to the lower denominations. The right end shows a standing Native American princess and crouching Ceres adapted from 1850s Obsolete notes. City, date, and obligation are across the center, a bolded FIFTY CENTS, is across, and three 50 counters are along the top. Noted with \"Minor Mounting Remnants on Back.\" The only example seen by us from this different series and extremely rare. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society \n\n
