An extremely rare Indiana note issued by a bank that apparently redeemed most of their circulation and left funds with the state to redeem notes after officially closing. This example is the Indiana book plate note illustrated on page 88. This well-designed Toppan, Carpenter, Casilear & Co. engraving shows a top center canal boat scene with a train crossing a stone bridge. At the far left is a female portrait and at the lower right is the Indiana seal. \"Tape on Back\" is noted, and there is some resulting vertical staining on the face. The first we have cataloged.
