Durand's first book of his thirteen topical subject titles, Interesting Notes About Denominations (1988, Author), provides collectors with a primer on this fascinating genre. The North Carolina and rarer Virginia notes using $6, $7, $8, and $9 plate configurations are excellent to collect. This is a handsome example from the Danforth, Wright & Co. printed series. A lively river rafting scene is at top center, Ceres crouches in front of a Native American princess at lower right, and the other corners have \"6\" counters. A red SIX protector is at the bottom. Noted with \"Minor Ink Erosion; Small Holes.\" A bit soiled, but well margined on all sides and solid paper body. Above average for the series and type. Ex: Eric P.
