PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ.  This is an extremely rare bank with only proofs known to us. This private banker's title would have issued notes using the partners' signatures. The bank took full responsibility for its circulation, with $805 in specie in the state comptroller's office for that exact circulation remaining. The beautiful series of proofs was engraved and printed by Toppan, Carpenter, Casilear & Co., who made many of Wisconsin's Obsolete bank plates. A classic vignette from the imprint shows a frantic scene: two boys attempt to harness a frightened horse next to a farm hand who has been thrown or knocked to the ground. A veiled woman is illustrated in an oval frame at lower left. This is the second and final Newman proof. We know of one other from the Wismer-Bookbinder-Krause cache. Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" and \"Mounted on Cardstock\" as made. This is a nearly Gem proof from another Milwaukee title that is virtually impossible to obtain. Ex: Eric P.
