Some foxing. Very good or better. The very rare first edition, one of only a few copies known of in numismatic hands. Breck (1771-1862) was the author of many historical articles, though this essay on the paper currency of the Revolution is considered to be his most notable work. The essay maintained its reputation, going on to become one of the first works on paper money to merit the distinction of being reprinted (by A.C. Kline in 1863).  Estimate $750. Ex: Eric P.
