Paris, MO - $10 1882 Fr. 577 The Paris NB Ch. # (M)5794 PCGS Very Fine 35. The Paris NB issued large and small size notes, but this is a desirable type from the charter. A very nice for the collector of high-end circulated notes. On the face, the image of Franklin and Electricity, engraved by Alfred Jones, is at left, and America Seizing the Lightning, engraved by Charles Burt, is at the right. In ovals on the green back, 1864 Treasury Secretary William P. Fessenden is at left, and allegorical Mechanics at right. TEN DOLLARS is across the center of the cartouche. This example exhibits bright paper, ample margins, bold stamped signatures, and pleasing overall eye appeal. The only other $10 from his bank we have sold was in our 2005 FUN Sale.
