The sharply defined grain being threshed by a flail emblem, encircled with the motto TRIBULATO DITAT (Affliction improves it), is at the right. Visible blue fibers in the margins attest to its extraordinary paper originality. Signed by Thomas Coombe (attributed as a Tory signer in the New Netherlands Sale #65, December 3-4, 1975, Affleck Ball Collection) and Samuel Morris. The nature print of raspberry and filbert leaves on the back is richly defined. This is a stunning example for the highest caliber Continental currency cabinet. Ex: Eric P.
