St. Louis, (M.T.) - Bank of Missouri $1 Nov. 3, 1818 MO-30 G16 SENC. PCGS Fine 12. A second Bank of Missouri $1 issued note with the iconic vignette and Chouteau signature. Eric has studied the signature combinations and timelines of the officers, in conjunction with observed plate types to understand all the varieties and their progression within this nuanced series. A common denominator throughout is that all the notes are signed by Auguste Chouteau as president. Engraved and styled by Murray, Draper, Fairman & Co. as previous. The Jefferson bust vignette is at top center, and intricate end panels have \"ONE\" at left and \"MISSOURI\" at right. Plate A. No. 4406. Signed by John Dales as cashier (previously the teller at incorporation) and Aug. Chouteau. This attractive example has been in the Newman Collection for decades. Problem-free and underrated; these are much rarer than the $5 and $10 denominations from the bank. A perfect representative from this historic series. Ex: Eric P.
