PCGS Fine 12 Apparent.  An intriguing note, but there are not enough diagnostics to call it genuine. This appears to be a well-made contemporary counterfeit (it should be assigned Haxby MO-25 C24b). The Toppan, Carpenter & Co. imprint is copied by this bank. The lower right shows wharf workers and lower left, a female portrait. Noted with some \"Small Stains.\" This note is more well made than many from the period. Worthy of further study, but this has more counterfeit diagnostics than genuine.
