Proof. PCGS Gem New 66PPQ.  This is a much rarer bank from Beaver Dam, and proofs from this series were not included in the Krause Collection. An India paper proof only, engraved and printed by Toppan, Carpenter & Co. This imprint was not in the 1990 American Banknote Company Archive sale; those proofs were dispersed long before the 1858 consolidation of the seven firms. At top center, women operate textile machinery. Ceres is seated at lower left with a sickle and an ox. This note has no protector; the issued notes from the bank used red protectors, and the Krause Collection had an issued note of this denomination. Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" as prepared at the engraving firm. The other example from the Newman Collection realized $1.292.50 in October 2016, but graded PCGS Choice New 64 Apparent.
