PCGS Very Fine 30 Apparent.  This is a false branch-payable type, attempting to copy the genuine $10 plate, and very clumsily accomplished. The exact style is unlisted in Haxby, but it roughly approximates his design type 10A. The counterfeit or spurious nature of this $10 is readily apparent. The false imprint of Draper, Toppan, Longacre & Co. Phila. & NY at bottom center and the frame are not nearly straight; the portraits of Clark and Boone are so poorly executed as to appear comical. The central PIKE vignette is crudely rendered although the steamboat is at least titled. The note was issued, but the penned parts were bleached away. Grading notes the following: \"Missing LR Corner; Paper Scuffs; Adhesive on Back.\" A rare false type and an interesting piece. Ex: Eric P.
