I found the story listed in Collier's Magazine for July 25, 1931, but couldn't get to the magazine itself to find the page number. Scene set in a pawn shop - the three balls are in the background, along with musical instruments, and other effluvia associated with pawn shops. The name Chocker can be read on the window. Three men are in the picture. The man on the left is tall and beefy, in a medium-colored suit and a dark tie He has a cigar stub in his mouth. The man on the right is shorter, portly, and balding. He's better dressed than the first man, in a morning suit with cutaway coat, white vest, boutonniere, wing collar and bow tie. He's holding a hat in his left hand. Both men have insincere smiles on their faces. The man in the middle is the fanciest dresser of them all, also the shortest. He's in a dark tail coat (can't see the vest) white shirt, wing collar, and dark tie with a pearl stickpin. He has a dark top hat on his head. He's facing the large man on the left, tilting his head back a little, with a confident look on his face, holding out his arms. He's holding a large elephant figurine and the towel it had been wrapped in. The caption reads; 'The pawnbroker was informed that there were actually two Sadakichis in the world and Omar unwrapped the bath towel and displayed the Rockwell ivory' This image is found on many sites, but usually without any information. I had to dig for that."},{"label":"Medium","value":["Black-and-white prints (prints on paper) [AAT]"]},{"label":"Date Created","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1931"},{"label":"Image View Type","value":"Periodical Illustration"},{"label":"Image View Description","value":"25-Jul"},{"label":"Title","value":"The Queen's Elephants"},{"label":"Copyright Status","value":["In Copyright - Educational Use Permitted"]},{"label":"Collection Name","value":["Walt Reed Illustration Archive Tear Sheet Collection","Dowd Illustration Research Archive","Walt Reed Illustration Archive"]},{"label":"Link to Finding Aid Record","value":"https://aspace.library.washu.edu/repositories/3/archival_objects/280076"},{"label":"Publish Country","value":["United States [LCNAF]"]},{"label":"Collection ID","value":["DIRA-00019"]},{"label":"Collecting Area","value":["Dowd Illustration Research Archive"]},{"label":"Genre Form","value":["Graphic Design and Illustration","Tear sheets [AAT]"]},{"label":"Style Period","value":["Commercial Modernism"]},{"label":"Cultural Context","value":"Popular American Culture"},{"label":"Copyright Statement","value":"<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC-EDU/1.0/\">This Item is protected by copyright and/or related rights.
