PCGS Very Fine 20.  The Newman Collection remarkably cared for three issued notes from this extremely rare, all SENC bank title in Haxby. There are imprint variants, but the original plates were engraved by Danforth, Wright & Co., and this note has an added \"ABC\" monogram on the plate. The bank apparently redeemed its notes and merged into another bank when the National Banks were launched in 1864. This explains their great rarity. Above the title, a blacksmith and farrier are occupied with shoeing a large white horse. Another man, likely the owner, looks on. Numeric counters are in the upper corners. At lower right, a Native American mother embraces her child. The red protector ONE has wide spacing between the letters. The $2 note from the bank in the April 2015 Newman Part VI sale was a slightly later, unlisted imprint variant, and realized $2,233. This is equally attractive and rare. Ex: Eric P.
