(St. Louis, MO) - Page & Bacon \"have deposited in this\" Quincy City Bank $2 Certificate of Deposit 18__. Proof. PCGS Choice About New 58 Apparent. A second denomination from this Page & Bacon \"in this Bank\" certificate of deposit series payable at the Quincy City Bank prominently titled across the center. This is also an India paper proof mounted on the original card by Danforth, Bald & Co. Philada. & New-York. The style of this civilization-themed proof is quite different from the last, with State of and Illinois bisected at the top by a spirited vignette of wild horses being herded by a man on horseback in the distance. Numerical dies enlivened by flourishes are in the top corners. The lower corners contrast farmers striding along with their attentive dog at left with a Native American mother and child at lower right. Noted with \"Paper Toned; Minor Damage.\" Brittle from aging, and intentionally cut-out (noted as \"Cut-Out Canceled\" by grading) in the center and upper left for the engraver's use or as a model at the engraving firm. This appears to have been part of the 1990 ABN Sale lot 366 and cut from the sheet later. Though with faults, this is extremely rare and collectible. Ex: Eric P.
