Includes Banking House of Darby & Barksdale (private bank of later president of Union Bank of Missouri W. H. Barksdale) 1857; Southern Bank of St. Louis 1857; Boatmen's Savings Institution (7, 4 with imprinted revenue stamps, three with affixed) vignetted checks. All different types. Most are 1870s dates; Traders Bank remainder check with imprinted revenue and dog vignette. EF. Others, the usual Fine to VF, with normal check cancels. An excellent reference collection. Ex: Eric P.
