PCGS Fine 15 Apparent.  This popular location was the boyhood home of Samuel L. Clemens. A lower denomination from a very scarce Civil War-dated series. Authorized by \"Ordinance City Council, Approved Nov. 17, 1862.\" Printed on white paper by W. C. Ebert & Co. Prs. At the left end are a standing Native American princess and crouching Ceres. At bottom center is a dog and safe vignette. The title and obligation dominate the right three-quarters of the note. These were payable to \"C. P. Heywood, or Bearer.\" Signed by Heywood in red ink. Noted with \"Minor Rust Stains; Small Hole at top Center.\" These are occasionally encountered, but this example is in above average condition. Ex: Eric P.
