Proof. PCGS Choice About New 58.  The notes from this bank are complex because they increased their capitalization from $25,000 to $125,000 over the tenure of the bank. This is an attractive $1 proof on India paper by Toppan, Carpenter, Casilear & Co, New York & Philadelphia. This is an extremely rare untinted proof series from the bank. The issued notes from the bank used red protectors. An allegorical female holds out an ear of corn from a brimming basket resting on a pile of produce. The background shows sailboats in front of a mountain vista. Between the counters at the right end, an oval frame surrounds the portrait of a young woman with a pearl necklace and hair ornament. At the top center arced over the vignette is Capital Stock $100,000. The only proofs from this series known, besides these available Newman Collection examples, are in the Wisconsin Historical Society. Noted as \"Hole Punch Canceled\" as made.
