The combination of vignettes, color and historical connection make them alluring. The $2 type uses a train at the top center with a red TWO protector at the bottom. Both lower corner vignettes are adapted from Durand & Co. designs engraved in the 1830s. At the lower left is seated Agriculture, and at the lower right is a Native American princess.
