Proof. PCGS Extremely Fine 40 Apparent.  This is a very rare proof series payable at the home bank or at the Merchants Bank in New York City. We are not aware of any issued notes, only very few proofs printed on India paper by Underwood, Bald & Spencer. Seated Commerce, seemingly enthroned between neatly packaged cotton, rests her elbow as navigation flows in the background. Complementing end panels use \"20\" counters in the corners and a Pericles style cameo profile at each end looks across at the other. Noted with \"Repairs; Edge Tear at Left; Mounting Remnants on Back.\" The condition flaws are noticed more from the back, but the face is appealing. Ex: Eric P.
