CAC. Large CC, WB-103. Arrows (outfacing on each side of the date) were introduced on most 1873 coinage to signify a slightly heavier planchet. Additionally, the style of the 3 in the date was altered with greater distance between the knobs to avoid an appearance (on smaller coins) of an 8. This half dollar has the arrows at the date and the Open style 3. The reverse has a Large CC (the other style being a Small CC, which was introduced in this year) and this specific die was also used on half dollars in 1871, 1872, and 1876.
